Day 2: Havana (B, L)
The first item on your Cuba Cultural Tour is an exclusive city tour on foot through the beautiful historic city of Havana. In the old historical center you can see the Plaza de Armas, Plaza San Francisco, Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Catedral and many other tourist attractions. Lunch then takes place in one of the best Cuban private restaurants "Paladar" in Old Havana. The afternoon is a bit more relaxed, you will be picked up with a vintage American car from the 50s to 60s and explore Havana in a very special way. The nostalgic panoramic tour takes you along the waterfront del Malecon. Also, the districts of "modern" Havana are explored as the Centro Habana, Vedado and Miramar and the absolute highlights, among others. the Capitolio, the Grand Teatro de la Habana, the University of Havana or the Plaza de la Revolución. After a very educational cultural tour, you are now in demand. Back in the restaurant Paladar you now have the opportunity to get to know the Cuban cocktail world better. With a professional bartender you prepare yourself some cocktails and learn everything worth knowing inkluvise some Ankedoten around it. What more do you want a Cuba Libre, Mojito, Daiquiri or Cubanito for? Of course, also non-alcoholic variants will be presented and mixed.

Day 3: Havana (B, L, D)
After a well-balanced breakfast in your hotel, immerse yourself in the history of the country. The journey through time begins at the Revolution Museum in the former Presidential Palace, where you will explore stories and personalities of some heroes. The cultural journey through Cuba then continues in the famous tobacco museum of Cuba. Not only will you learn about the history and theory of Cuba's best-known asset, but you'll also have the chance to watch a Tobacco-maker at work at the Hostal del Fumador. You will have your lunch in a typical Cuban restaurant in the old town. So on with your cultural trip through Cuba. You will visit a typical farmer's market - "Mercado de doble salida". Before that you exchange a few Euros for the real Cuban pesos. At the market, you can buy some foods (such as tomatoes, yucca / malanga, mango, depending on the season) which you will later use. It's also interesting to see Cuban markets trading and Cuban market activity going on. After a successful purchase at the farmer's market, you will continue in a so-called Bici-Taxi (cost about 3 CUC per Bici - not included) to "Santo Angel" in Havana Vieja. There you will get an insight into the social and art project "Santo Angel", which has the goal to improve the living conditions in the district sustainably. At the end of the day you have something special in mind again today. As you might have guessed, you will now use the market ingredients and prepare your own traditional Cuban dinner - with professional help, of course.

Accommodation: Casa Particular Havanna (or similar)

Day 4: Havana - Viñales (B, L)
Today it goes to the western part of the island in the province of Pinar del Rio also called the "green province" or the "Garden of Cuba". There you will visit a tobacco factory and one of the most famous liqueur factories of the country "La Guayabita del Pinar". We continue to Viñales, but on the way we make small stops to enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley of Viñales. It is a must to pay a visit to the unique landscape, with its tropical "mogotes" and bizarre limestone cones. The program also includes several famous highlights of Viñales, such as the "Wall of Prehistory" (a mural on a mogote) and a boat trip on the underground river of the cave "Cueva del indio". This time, lunch will be held in a local restaurant in the area. Then we continue to Soroa.

Accommodation: Villa Soroa or Casa Particular Soroa

Die atemberaubende Natur darf neben der Kultur auf Kuba nicht fehlen - Cubatrotter

Day 5: Soroa - Santa Clara (B, D)
After a hearty breakfast you will be guided through the beautiful orchid garden of Soroa, which contains over 700 species of various orchids. Another attraction of this day is the waterfall "Salto de Arco Iris". The route continues to Santa Clara - the "Che Guevara City". It was here that the heroes of the revolution celebrated the decisive victory over the Batista dictatorship. Visit the Che Guevara Memorial and the museum to learn more about the historical background. A city tour through the diverse city of Santa Clara should not be missed. Santa Clara is not only a major transportation hub and industrial location but also a major science center. The evening ends with a good dinner.

Accommodation: America or Casa Particular Santa Clara

Day 6: Santa Clara - Trinidad(B, L)
Today you drive to the south coast to Trinidad. Between the Escambray Mountains and the Caribbean coast lies the fertile valley "Valle de los Ingenios". It is well known for its sugar mills and was once one of Cuba's main sugar-growing centers. The former Overseer Watchtower "Torre Manaca Iznaga" is the landmark of the area. After a very exciting morning, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in Trinidad. The well-preserved and cozy colonial town of Trinidad (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is best explored with a walk. You have a wonderful view over the city from the roof terrace of the Municipal museum in the center of the city.

Accommodation: Casa Particular Trinidad with B & B (hotel upgrade optional: for example Las Cuevas, La Ronda or Iberostar Trinidad - subject to availability).

Day 7: Trinidad (B)
Today ends the first part of the cultural tour "Cuba 1-2-3". The following possibilities for further travel arise:
If you have not seen enough of Cuba yet, simply continue your tour to the center (part 2) and / or the eastern parts of Cuba (part 3).

Short note: If you decide to continue the round trip, the round trip part 2 would start with this day.

After discovering some of the highlights during the cultural tour, you now have the opportunity to join a relaxing beach holiday. You can drive to the best dream beaches in Cuba with our optional transfers. The hotel offers are very large - from budget 3 *** hotels to luxurious 5 ***** facilities with all inclusive service.

CUBA 2

Day 1: Trinidad
This day is at your free disposal today. A few suggestions: A jeep tour through the nearby nature reserve around the Topes de Collantes. A more active option is a hike in the tropical landscape of the National Park Parque el Bucano or at the waterfall Caburno. Another alternative is an interesting journey of discovery through the old town of Trinidad or simply relaxing on a beach day at Playa Ancon. Your tour guide is at your disposal with help and advice.

For all who are new today, this day is planned as your day of arrival. We can arrange a transfer to Trinidad for a surcharge.

Accommodation: Casa Particular Trinidad (or similar)

Day 2: Trinidad - Sancti Spiritus - Camagüey (B, L)
After a well-balanced breakfast in your accommodation in Trinidad, the day starts. Your journey brings you to Camagüey today. Camagüey was founded in the 1815s. The city not only has more than 300 hectares of land, but is also the country's largest city center in Cuba. After a longer drive, you have earned lunch in a local restaurant. Then it continues with a guided tour through Camagüey's streets. There you will notice that the streets are twisted and twisted like a labyrinth. The reason is that the inhabitants were tired of the many pirate raids and preferred to live in an underground labyrinth. In the afternoon you visit a very special project called Camaquito. This project supports children and young people in the fields of education, sport, culture and health. Some actions are the children's theater La Andariega, the Ballet de Camagüey or the Café Literario of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz.

Accommodation: Casa Particular Camagüey (or similar)

kuba-camag__ey_1

Day 3: Camagüey - Bayamo - Santiago de Cuba (B, L)
After a very healthy breakfast, the cultural tour continues to Bayamo. The city of Bayamo, also the second capital of Cuba, was founded in 1513 by the first Spanish governor Diego Velasquez. On the city tour with a visit to Céspedes Park, you will hardly guess that this sleepy little town gave birth to the idea of a Cuba independent of Spain. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in town. After lunch we continue to the today's destination to Santiago de Cuba. On the way you will make various stops and see some special features such as the famous "Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Cobre".

Accommodation: Hotel Versalles or Las Americas (or similar)

Day 4: Santiago de Cuba (B, L)
This day begins with breakfast at the property. Then it goes to the city of Santiago de Cuba. There are some interesting places to discover, such as the Antonio Maveo, Revolution Square, Céspedes Square, Casa de la Trova and much more. Tip: The fortress "El Morro" at the entrance to the bay of Santiago de Cuba offers a magnificent view of the city and the wide blue Caribbean Sea. Lunch will be held at a local restaurant. The afternoon is for your own exploration, e.g. to the cemetery "Santa Iphgenia" with the family grave of Bacardis, the Bacardi museum or the oldest house of Cuba at leisure. A wonderful end to the day is a visit to the "Casa de la Trova" right on "Plaza Central". There is a Tropicana show that is highly recommended for all lovers of Cuban music.

Accommodation: Hotel Versalles or Las Americas (or similar)

Day 5: Santiago de Cuba (B)
Today is the last day of the second part of the "Cuba 1-2-3" journey. You now have the following options for further travel:

  • You can continue the culture tour "Cuba 1-2-3" with the third part. This time it's in the eastern part of Cuba. This is highly recommended, because it is one of the most beautiful and interesting regions in Cuba - fantastic nature with a lot of endemic flora and fauna, breathtaking landscapes and authentic villages that are hardly closed touristy: Simply Cuba for insiders!
  • Short note: If you decide to continue the round trip, the round trip part 3 would start with this day.
  • After you have done round trip 1 and / or 2, you have already seen a lot about Cuba. What do you think about a relaxing bathing holiday at one of Cuba's most beautiful beaches? We offer you an optional transfer or domestic flight to the beautiful beaches around Guardalavaca in the province Holguin, to Varadero or to Cayo Coco.
  • The third option is a domestic flight to Havana to spend a few more days in the bustling metropolis.

For all passengers who are coming from today and would like to start their journey to the "wild East" of Cuba, we are happy to offer transfers for your journey to Santiago (for example from Havana or Holguin) and overnight in a Casa Particular or Hotel.

CUBA 3

Day 1: Santiago de Cuba (B, L, D)
The tour begins with breakfast at your accommodation. This is followed by a jeep excursion through the second largest metropolis in Cuba - Santiago. The adventurous journey begins east of Santiago de Cuba and leads into the mountains at Las Guasimas. Very refreshing is the local and relatively cool climate in the green mountain range. Lunch will be held at a local restaurant. The afternoon is very active with a hike through the mountains of the Cafetales. There since the 18th century coffee plantations were created and harvested by French farmers. The production is still upright, but nowadays coffee is grown and processed only in small quantities. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The finale of the evening is planned on a typical finca (farm). There you will be invited for dinner and the owner will tell you interesting stories about Cuban life.

Accommodation: Hotel Versalles or Las Americas (or similar)

Day 2: Santiago - Guantanamo (B, L)
After a well-balanced breakfast in your accommodation, you will be guided to the famous Guantánamo. Another expedition will take you to the town of Guajira Guantanamera, which also bears the same name as a well-known Cuban song by the poet José Marti. The city is about 40 km behind the bay of Guantánamo. You can have lunch at a local restaurant. An excursion in the afternoon will show you a city that is rather unknown to tourism. There you can see the colonial architecture that revives the port city of Guatánamo in the old splendor. There were also other parts of the city professionally restored, which are also worth seeing. Guantánamo is rich in tradition and next to Baracoa probably the most authentic city in Cuba!

Accommodation: Martí or Casa Particulares Guantanamo (or similar)

Day 3: Guantánamo - Baracoa (B, L)
After a healthy breakfast, the journey continues to Baracoa. On the way you will be guided through the so-called "Farola" mountains. It is called because of the different climatic zones and Höhelagen with constantly changing flora so. They also drive through several villages, where the small farmers sell their tropical fruits and their cocoa products right on the road. After a longer drive, you will reach the oldest and most remote city in Cuba. There you will have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Baracoa takes place. The place is unique not only by its secluded location in the far east, but also the lifestyle is very special. One attraction is the massive wooden cross "la cruz de parra"! It was then brought as a gift by Christopher Columbus and set up. The cross is today the oldest preserved Catholic landmark in the "new world". You can arrange the evening according to your wishes. There are many restaurants, also called "Paladares", that you can visit and enjoy the local music.

Accommodation: Hostal La Habanera or Hotel La Rusa (or similar)

Day 4: Baracoa (B, L)
The day starts with a breakfast in your hotel. It goes to the easternmost point of Kuab. You will notice that the settlement of houses is becoming less and less. Here live the Indian descendants of Cuba. At "La Maquina" a land route leads to "Punta Maisi", the easternmost point of Cuba. From here it is not far to Haiti. There you can with a small tip for the gatekeeper, climb the historic lighthouse and enjoy the beautiful view. The trip to the eastern tip of Cuba is a very special experience. A unique, changing vegetation from tropical forests to desert-like coastal landscapes. Lunch will be in a local restaurant. Another highlight of the day is Boca de Yumuri. With a boat tour you can explore the canyons. These are gorges washed out over a long time. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to learn everything about cocoa production.

Accommodation: Hostal La Habanera or Hotel La Rusa (or similar)

kuba-baracoa

Day 5: Baracoa (B, L)
Before you start your day, start with a breakfast in your hotel. Today's journey takes you to the Humboldt National Park, a unique natural retreat with many endemic species of flora and fauna. On a hike (of course with a professional park ranger, who also brings a wealth of expertise), you will explore the wonderful natural region. You are also allowed to jump into the cool water during your hike. Lunch will be in a local restaurant. The afternoon is also very exciting. First you explore the most water-rich river of Cuba, the Rio Toa, and then back to Baracoa, where you can end your evening. We would recommend a romantic dinner in one of the many private restaurants or in a restaurant with the well-known music style Camagüi.

Accommodation: Hostal La Habanera or Hotel La Rusa (or similar)

Day 6: Baracoa - Cayo Saetia / Pinares de Mayari (B, L, D)
After breakfast, leave Baracoa and begin the journey towards Holguin. You will drive along the picturesque north coast with many coves and presented islands. Especially at the beginning of the route, near the town of Baracoa, the vegetation becomes enchantingly beautiful and the streets are lined with palm trees and tropical plants. Today's destination is Cayo Saetia, a large island off the Bahía de Nipe. It is a very exotic island with mangroves, sand and rocky coves. Decades ago, African game was exposed here: zebras, antelopes and ostriches for game-loving party officials, state guests and the Cuban upper classes. Consider the island with all its peculiarities. Lunch is at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will continue to Cayo Saetia to your hotel (AI) where you will have dinner and overnight (subject to availability). If the hotel Cayo Saetia is fully booked, continue to Pinares de Mayarí. The hotel is idyllically situated in the Sierra de Cristal. There you have a wonderful starting point for exciting excursions into the region. You will dine at the Hotel Pinares de Mayari with half board and overnight.

Accommodation: Villas Pinares de Mayari or Hotel Cayo Saetia (or similar)

kuba-cayo-saetia

Day 7: Cayo Saetia / Pinares de Mayari - Banes - Holguín (B, L)
The last day of your tour "Cuba 1-2-3" has begun. The day starts with a balanced breakfast in your hotel. In the morning you can relax in both places Cayo Saetia and Pinares de Mayari. In Cayo Saetia you have the opportunity to make a discovery tour or just relax on the beach. In Pinares de Mayari you have the opportunity to go on a hike to the waterfalls "Salto Guayabo". Both offers are highly recommended! Lunch will be held in a restaurant in the area. After that you will continue the journey towards Holguin. On the way there you will also make a stop in Banes. There you will visit the archeological site "Chorro de Maita" with a museum on the subject of indigenous indigenous people. Continue to visit the small village of Biran. There is the former finca of the Castro family. You will hear interesting stories about the past life and visit the former finca, which is now a revolutionary museum. In the city of Holguin you will make a city tour with the most beautiful sights. The city is also called city of parks. Locally you can see four parks in the old town alone. But the city does not only contain beautiful green, but also many famous beers such as Crystal, Mazabe or Bucanero .... Bottom up!

Your cultural explorer tour in the "wild East" of Cuba ends at the beautiful beaches of Guardalavaca in the region of Holguin. We recommend you to rest there still a relaxing bathing stay. There are several hotels of different categories available: From cheap 3 *** segment, to exclusive hotel facilities in the 5 ***** area. Alternatively, stay one night in one of the city hotels in Holguin and travel back to Havana on the next day with a domestic flight.

  • Unfortunately, it can always come back to short-term rebooking of the hotels we specify. Especially for the high season, many hotels are booked out for months or even a year in advance. Even if we from Cuba a confirmation for a hotel, this does not always mean that the hotel at the time in question also has capacity. This is due to the fact that while there are many travel agencies for Cuba, there are comparatively few hotel capacities.
